Bleacher Report

Just like Ben Simmons, Damian Lillard has been linked with several trade rumors for a couple of months now. Ever since the Denver Nuggets took out the Portland Trail Blazers in the playoff, the player was linked with a move out of the Moda Center, which hasn’t changed.

Dame made it clear that he wanted to win with his team, as long as they get the right pieces. However, that hasn’t been the case, which led to plenty of speculation around the NBA community.

Lillard was rumored to be on his way out of Portland, with some claiming he could start the season with the team and get traded at the deadline. Others put him on another team this offseason, and more recently, fans speculated he’d like to play with Ben Simmons on the Blazers.

Now, Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reveals that the point guard could play the entire 2021/22 season with his team.

Via Redditor “nonbiasednbafan“:

“The seemingly unanimous expectation around the league right now is that Damian Lillard plays out this season with the Portland Trail Blazers.”

With executives keeping tabs on his situation with the team, it seems like they will have to wait before making a move for the All-Star point guard. There’s no doubt that Dame is one of the best players in the league, and whoever gets him this or the next offseason will have a terrific star.

Nevertheless, it seems like he will stay with the Blazers at least for one more season before making a decision on his future. He has confirmed his commitment to the team, but he wants the front office to assemble a championship-caliber team.
