NBA Rumors: Kawhi Leonard “Intruiged” By Joining The Miami Heat

2 Min Read

When Kawhi Leonard joined the Clippers in 2019, nobody was expecting it to be a short-term stay. For years, there had been rumblings that Leonard longed to play in Los Angeles, and that’s exactly what he’s getting to do now.

Better still, he’s getting to play with a title-contending team, that also happens to be the home of his co-star, Paul George.

But with the Clippers having not yet won a title, and their future still unclear, rumors of his potential departure are already beginning to surface. In one of the most recent of these whispers, one NBA agent told Evan Massey he could be headed to Miami as early as this upcoming offseason.

“Kawhi (Leonard) could very well listen to pitches from other teams. That is something that he is considering. If that does end up being the case, he would be intrigued at the possibility of joining the Miami Heat. Joining forces with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo is something that he would absolutely have interest in.”

If the Clippers fail once again to live up to expectations, it’s not a long-shot to think that Kawhi might want to head somewhere else. Somewhere with stability, culture, and a history of winning.

The Heat are about as good as it gets in that regard, and Kawhi’s presence could make them instant favorites in the East.

In the end, though, this is all just speculation. As much as he may love Bam and Butler, well just have to wait and see for ourselves where the 2x Champion decides to go when he (possibly) hits free agency this summer.
