NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Sign Isaiah Thomas

2 Min Read

32-year-old Isaiah Thomas hasn’t seen NBA action since last season, when he was suiting up for the Washington Wizards.

In the time that has followed, Thomas has continued his bid to return to the NBA in a consistent role — a bid that has, so far, failed up to this point.

But, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, at least two teams are monitoring Thomas, with the possibility he might join their roster: the Milwaukee Bucks and L.A. Lakers.

Both teams could benefit from what Thomas brings to the court, but the Lakers especially.

With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers make the perfect landing spot for veteran shooters and scorers. Not only do opposing defenses focus most of their energy on the duo, but both stars have an uncanny ability to find open shooters and set up their teammates.

Last we saw I.T., he was putting up 12.2 points and 3,7 assists per game on 41% shooting from downtown.

It remains to be seen how effective he can be at this stage of his career, but it might be worth a shot to give him another try, especially if he comes at a relatively cheap cost.
