Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA made the decision months ago to postpone the 2021 All-Star game. According to reports, the plan was to skip the All-Star weekend altogether this season, and have fans vote for the title without an actual game.
Now, however, it sounds like there might be a game after all.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA and Players Association are in talks about having All-Star weekend in Atlanta this season, sometime during March.

Obviously, this is a huge shift from what many were expecting to start this campaign. Many, in fact, still believe they’re better off not having the weekend at all.
Already, multiple players and teams have had to be quarantined after catching the virus, and there really is no telling how much better or worse things will get over the next few months.
The hope is that, with more time, and a vaccine that should be mass distributed in the next couple of weeks, things will be in a better place by the time March rolls around.
But, of course, we’ll just have to wait and see.
