LeBron James is balling out at a level that no one had expected him to at the age he is at. But considering that the Lakers are struggling, this has given rise to conversations about him potentially moving on. There’s not a franchise in the NBA that wouldn’t love to have LBJ on their roster, but making a move for him won’t be easy.

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t made any major decisions about their roster yet, with Rob Pelinka choosing not to trade Russell Westbrook and the first-round picks. They don’t want to make a major move and potentially mess up again if reports are to be believed. But thanks to this, results aren’t improving anymore, which means that LeBron James is far from a happy camper. And rumors about potential deals have already begun.

NBA Reporter Says A Deal Between Miami And Los Angeles For LeBron James Is Possible But There Is One Issue

LeBron James has already won championships with the Miami Heat, and he has a history with the franchise. And according to Sam Quinn Of CBS, the Heat could make an offer for LeBron that could work, but there is an obstacle.

“Miami could offer three first-round picks along with Lowry as the primary matching salary. The Lakers would probably ask for Tyler Herro. That would be the sticking point in negotiations.

“The last time the Lakers and Heat made a trade of this magnitude, the Lakers tried a similar staredown involving Dwyane Wade and blinked,” Quinn said. “They ultimately sent Shaquille O’Neal to the Heat for Lamar Odom, Caron Butler, and Brian Grant. It’s hard not to draw parallels to that trade when speculating about this one. Both deals began with an aging legend growing frustrated as the Lakers prioritized the future over the present.”

It’s hard to see Tyler Herro being a sticking point for the franchise if they are getting LeBron James, as it would make the Heat instant favorites in the Eastern Conference. But these things are complicated, and maybe the Lakers could decide to make some moves of their own before such an eventuality occurs. One way or another, this could be a wild trade deadline for the Lakers.
