Bronny James is arguably one of the most intriguing prospects of this year’s draft class. But according to NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony, Bronny isn’t even making himself easily available to the majority of teams.

“I don’t think it’s going to surprise anybody that we have him going 55th to the Lakers. This is the way it’s been trending for years now and NBA teams that I’ve talked to say they cannot get Bronny James into their building, teams that are drafting in the late twenties and in the thirties. The Phoenix Suns have a second workout scheduled with Bronny later this week but other than that we have not seen any NBA teams be able to work him out. The sense among teams is that his agent, Rich Paul, does not want him on a two-way contract, and the range that he’s gonna be picked, that 40-58 range, those are where two-way contracts are handed out.”

Bronny, 19, is still fresh off his Freshman season at USC, where he averaged a modest 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 36% shooting. Despite his low numbers and meager impact on the court, Bronny showed enough flashes of potential to warrant serious interest in the upcoming draft. Being the son of an NBA legend doesn’t hurt his cause either.

Initially, Bronny was viewed as a late second-round pick and there were questions about if he was worth drafting at all. But after an impressive showing at the combine, and the potential for his father to follow, interest in Bronny has risen across the league.

Unfortunately for some, Bronny isn’t interested in just going anywhere. So far, he’s only met with the Lakers and Suns and it’s a clear message that those two teams are the only ones that he’s keen to join. With roughly six weeks to go before the draft, James still has time to give other teams a chance but it seems that he, his father, and his agent all have a plan for the upcoming offseason.

Bronny James Workout Video Leaked

Bronny’s scheduled to have another workout with the Suns later this week, and he recently went viral for his workout with the Lakers just a few days ago. The video, which has garnered countless views, features James Jr. in the lab with his dad and repping full Lakers gear.

While James has the option of going pro or returning for another year of college, it’s safe to say that the Lakers have given him a promise to draft him with the 55th overall pick… if he’s still on the board by then.

As a team willing to do whatever it takes to keep their stars happy, it’s important that the Lakers help the King achieve his lifelong dream of being teammates with his own flesh and blood. With Bronny and Rich Paul on the same exact page, they are making their intentions clear from the start in order to ensure they get what they want.

For Bronny, even as a C-tier draft pick, his family name carries a lot of weight and teams will consider drafting him for the mere chance of attracting his dad. If not, Bronny himself could prove to be a powerful asset on the court as a playmaker, ball handler, and athletic two-way player.
