NBA: Where amazing happens. This league is constantly finding new ways to live up to that motto, and these superhuman athletes that take the hardwood may write their names in history in the blink of an eye.

Records are always getting broken in this league and analytics, hot takes and our bold predictions can all be gone to waste in a heartbeat, as these guys are just the greatest athletes in the world.

That being said, there are a lot of things that happen in this league that we don’t take a moment to appreciate because of how fast everything happens. That’s why today, we’re going to break down some of the most shocking stats of the season.

10. Domantas Sabonis Is Shooting 69% From The Floor

Usually, big men lead the league in field goal percentage because they do most of their damage from within close range and don’t take that many shots. Nonetheless, Domantas Sabonis is no average big man.

Not only he’s more oriented towards taking mid-range and long-range shots, but also, he’s not your average heavy footed low post scorer. He’s leading the league in FG% while taking 8.1 shots a game.

9. Bojan Bogdanovic Is Leading The League In 3P%

Bojan Bogdanovic Pacers

Bojan Bogdanovic entered the league as a three-point specialist so the fact that he’s leading the league in three-point percentage shouldn’t come as a surprise, but he’s actually shooting better than some of the best scorers in the league.

At 54.5%, Bogdanovic is actually shooting better than Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyle Korver, and he’s done it while taking over 4 three-pointers a night.

8. TJ Warren Is Shooting 47% From Three

USA Today

TJ Warren doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his improvements because of the fact that he’s always played under Devin Booker’s shadow. Add Josh Jackson and Deandre Ayton to the mix, and things get even worse.

Moreover, Warren has quietly improved on every aspect of his game as years go by, and is currently shooting 47% from beyond the arc after being a roughly 29% shooter from three before this season.

7. Klay Thompson Is Scoring 37% Of His Points From Mid-range

One of the things that amaze the most of Klay Thompson is the fact that he’s such an efficient three-point shooter, that it’s crazy to see he’s that effective while taking 6.9 three-pointers per game.

Nonetheless, what’s really impressive right now is the fact that a guy that lives and die from the three-pointer is actually scoring 37% of his points from midrange, a shot the Warriors aren’t taking that much.

6. Marc Gasol Is Attempting 6.8 Catch And Shoots Shots

Marc Gasol 4241241241

Most big men make most of their damage from the post. They’re always making putbacks, dunking, instead of being known for their jump shooting abilities or scoring from mid or long range.

Nonetheless, Marc Gasol is currently 3rd in catch and shoot shots per game this year in the league, becoming more of a three-point shooter than your average old-fashioned big man. Basketball is changing, I guess.

5. Trae Young Is Averaging More Assists Per Game Than John Wall, Ben Simmons, And Chris Paul

Trae Young Hawks NBA 41

Trae Young’s ability to create and facilitate for his teammates was never put in doubt during his NCAA stint, but the fact that the young man has adapted so quickly to the league is quite surprising.

Moreover, Young is currently averaging 8.1 assists a game, trailing just Kyle Lowry and Jrue Holiday. Also, that’s more than De’Aaron Fox, Stephen Curry, James Harden, John Wall, Ben Simmons, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Kemba Walker.

4. Derrick Rose Is Shooting 46% From Three

Derrick Rose is for real this season. After scoring a career-high 50 points, he’s proven to be determined to get back to his MVP level and lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to the playoff even if that means coming off the bench.

Also, Rose has vastly improved as a three-point shooter, connecting in 46% of his 3.8 nightly attempts from downtown after being a career 29% shooter from beyond the three-point line. You go, Rose!

3. Dwyane Wade Is Shooting 38.5% From Three

dwyane-wade

Dwyane Wade is a walking Hall of Famer. That has never been put in doubt, as he’s one of the greatest shooting guards in the history of the game, a fierce scorer that has never needed a three-point shot to dominate.

Nonetheless, it seems like the Flash is keen to make the most of his “Last Dance” and has put a lot of work on his three-point shot. This season, he’s shooting 38% from deep after never shooting over 31% throughout his career.

2. Brook Lopez Is Scoring 3 Triples Per Game

Brook Lopez 1231231

Brook Lopez is completely changing the way the center spot is played right now, being the missing piece the Milwaukee Bucks so desperately craved for years: A starting big man, and a shooter. All in the same place.

After not making a single three-pointer through his first 8 seasons in the NBA, Lopez is currently scoring over 3 triples a night, showing a great and smooth stroke and looking like a Splash Brother out there.

1. DeAndre Jordan Is Shooting 80% From The Line

But, the most surprising stat of the season – and by a long shot – has to be DeAndre Jordan’s free throw shooting. After being haunted by the line and considered one of the worst free throw shooters ever, the Mavericks’ center has finally turned his weakness into a strength.

Jordan is shooting 80% from the line on 3.9 attempts a game, so it’s safe to say those ‘Hack-A-Jordan’ days are over. Also, he’s shooting a higher percentage than Bradley Beal, Donovan Mitchell, Chris Paul, and Klay Thompson.

Unless otherwise cited, all stats are courtesy of NBA.com and current leading into games on Nov. 23.
