NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls Could Land Kemba Walker For Three Players

3 Min Read

The Chicago Bulls are entering an offseason that could change their luck for several seasons to come. Even after landing Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic, Chicago failed to make the 2021 NBA playoffs.

They are ready to make a splash in the summer, trying to add more pieces to compete in an Eastern Conference that gets more difficult every year. The trade market could give them a big chance to add a valuable piece ahead of the next season.

According to Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report, Kemba Walker could be on the Bulls’ radar, and the Boston Celtics have solid reasons to deal the point guard.

Chicago Bulls Receive: PG Kemba Walker

Boston Celtics Receive: G Coby White, PG Tomas Satoransky, F Al-Farouq Aminu

By trading for Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls signaled they’re clearly trying to win now. After still missing out on the 2021 postseason, adding Walker would make the Bulls a playoff lock next year.

Although he battled knee issues throughout the year, Walker looked like his All-Star self during the second half of the season. Over his nine regular season games, the 31-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals and shot 42.7 percent from three.

A starting unit of Walker, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams, Thaddeus Young and Vucevic could compete for homecourt advantage in the East, and the addition of Walker would help convince LaVine to re-sign next offseason.

This is a very interesting idea for both teams. This season wasn’t the best for the Celtics; they failed to be a top-4 team in the East, and the Brooklyn Nets easily beat them in the first round of the playoffs. They have struggled to find a consistent point guard for several years now and Kemba could be another name on that infamous list.

As for the Bulls, landing Walker would fix some issues for Billy Donovan. A Big 3 of Kemba, Zach LaVine and Vucevic could take this team to the top of the East. Still, time will tell if the C’s agree to make this move and if the Bulls are willing to pull the trigger, too.
