NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Have Given Up On Trading Kevin Love

2 Min Read

Less than 24 hours ago, it was reported that Cavaliers players were feeling that change was on the way. By all accounts, it seemed like the Cavs were going to do something big — and they still might.

But anything they do between now and Thursday’s deadline is unlikely to involve All-Star big man Kevin Love, whose future with the franchise has been in doubt all season long.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs have all but given up hope on finding a deal for Love by the end of the week.

“Cleveland is resigned right now that there is no trade for them between now and Thursday. Unless something comes out of nowhere, essentially, they will be looking in the offseason,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on The Woj Pod.

As a 31-year-old shooting and rebonding star Love is exactly the type of big man teams are looking to add. Unfortunately, there are questions about his age, durability, and the value of his lucrative three-year, $90-plus million contract.

It seems teams just aren’t willing to take in that type of deal for a player with so many concerns.

But expect the quest to continue this summer because, if Love has made anything clear in the past few months, it’s that he’s ready to move on.
