The Kevin Durant trade battle got extremely interesting yesterday after reports suggested that various new teams are in the mix to trade for KD. While the team with the most profound interest was the Memphis Grizzlies, even the Atlanta Hawks tried to inquire about KD’s availability and sent the Nets a trade package.

One of the most loaded teams in terms of trade assets is the Golden State Warriors, who could explore going all-in on their current old core once again by trading for KD and having the most lethal offense in the NBA.

Bill Simmons of The Ringer has suggested that the Warriors may be looking towards KD as he would essentially solidify their hopes to repeat as NBA Champions.

“I think the team is the Warriors. I can’t believe I am saying that. My little birdies, and you know my information is usually correct. Guy by the name of Joe Lacob… Pretty enchanted by the dynasty possibilities right now. We can argue whether they’re a dynasty already… You bring Kevin Durant back and now it’s like, ‘could we win the next 3 titles in a row’? Now you’re in Russell-Celtics territory. They have the best assets for a trade. They have the most that Brooklyn will be like ‘alright, that makes sense’. Then, from a Golden State standpoint,  you could say they actually will improve.”

The Warriors cannot move Andrew Wiggins to the Nets for KD as Brooklyn can’t accept Wiggins on the last year of his rookie max contract, the same thing Ben Simmons is currently on and has been restricting the possible assets Brooklyn can receive for KD.

A move to add Durant to this Warriors roster would make fans extremely upset but would solidify a guaranteed championship dynasty for KD to look back on. With how he and Steph Curry can easily share the floor, the duo may dominate with whatever supporting cast is leftover from the trade.
