Domantas Sabonis is one of the best power forwards in the league. He is well known for his playmaking and scoring. He has been the face of the Indiana Pacers for the last few years, and despite his individual talent, the Pacers haven’t achieved much team success.

The Indiana Pacers are now 12-18 and 13th in the Eastern Conference. They are currently out of the playoffs picture and aren’t even in a play-in tournament spot. It is clear that the team needs to go in a new direction. It has previously been reported that they may be willing to trade some veterans to start a rebuilding process.

Amidst all the talks about the Indiana Pacers rebuilding, it seems as though Domantas Sabonis wants out of the Indiana Pacers himself. Matt Moore of the Action Network revealed that even “going back to last year”, there was a desire from Domantas Sabonis for a “change of scenery”.

There’s belief that pretty much every Pacer is gettable right now outside of Malcolm Brogdon, who can’t be dealt for a year after signing his extension, but here are some things to consider.

Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer reported that Domantas Sabonis wants out of Indiana. That’s what I was told by multiple league sources as well, and that it wasn’t just this season, but instead going back to last year Sabonis was looking for a change of scenery.

There is no question that Domantas Sabonis could be a difference-maker for any team in the league. He is a two-time All-Star, and versatile big men like him don’t hit the trade market that often. The Portland Trail Blazers and the Sacramento Kings were rumored as potential destinations, and it’s easy to see how he’d help both teams.

We’ll see what happens with Domantas Sabonis in the future, and a lot of players are featured in trade rumors that don’t become reality. However, if Sabonis wanting out is true, there will surely be a lot of franchises that will be looking to add him to their roster.
