The Los Angeles Lakers had a 2-10 start to the 2022-23 NBA season, which genuinely concerned the fanbase of the legendary organization. But over the last month or so, the Lakers have managed to turn things around and improved their record to 11-15.

Moreover, the Lakers are just a few wins away from not only having a .500 record but to genuinely content for a playoffs spot. Despite somewhat turning the season around, the Los Angeles Lakers are in search of trading for some talented players. The Purple and Gold were previously linked to the Chicago Bulls duo of DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic.

Unfortunately, the trade talks broke down due to the Bulls having no interest in Russell Westbrook. Now, new reports suggest that the Lakers are targeting the Detroit Pistons’ sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic.

The Detroit Pistons’ Asking Price For Bojan Bogdanovic Could Be Out Of Budget For The Los Angeles Lakers

It’s no secret that the Lakers are aggressively searching to add good shooters to the roster. If the Lakers can improve that flaw in the roster, many believe they will truly turn the season around. NBA insider Shams Charania recently broke the news about the Lakers approaching the Pistons for Bojan Bogdanovic.

Via The Athletic:

The Lakers are prioritizing shooting in their conversations with teams, and have discussed packages including salaries and a protected first-round pick for Detroit’s Bojan Bogdanovic, league sources, who were granted anonymity so that they could speak freely, tell The Athletic.

In addition to Shams Charania’s report, NBA insider Marc Stein also gave his own spin on the rumor, explaining what the Pistons actually want in exchange for Bogdanovic.

Via Marcstein.substack:

The Pistons have to date declined those overtures, sources add, insisting on a fully unprotected future first from the Lakers to seriously entertain a Bogdanović swap. Detroit, in fact, continues to tell interested teams (and there are several) that it wants to keep Bogdanović, who is averaging 21.0 points and shooting 50.8% from the field (43.7% on 3-pointers) as a Piston.

Bogdanovic is having an excellent season, and the Lakers can certainly use someone like him on the current roster. But will the Los Angeles Lakers commit to the Pistons’ request of adding an unprotected future first to the trade package? Only time will tell.
