The Cleveland Cavaliers have established themselves as one of the best teams in the NBA this season. The duo of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland has helped the Cavaliers dominate against most teams so far this season. As a result, the Cavaliers have a record of 27-17 in the East.
But even though the team has been doing pretty great, they wouldn’t mind an upgrade in the wing positions. With the NBA Trade Deadline approaching fast, the Cavaliers have reportedly discussed a 3-team trade, including the Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz.
Utah Jazz Could Land John Collins In A 3-Team Trade
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Cavaliers are open to a three-way trade that would help the Jazz in getting John Collins and will bring Malik Beasley to Cleveland while sending Caris LeVert to the Hawks.
Via Stein Line:
As part of the Cavaliers’ ongoing search for wing upgrades, league sources say, they have weighed pursuing a three-way trade scenario that would land Atlanta’s John Collins with the Jazz and bring Utah’s Malik Beasley to Cleveland. The Jazz have well-chronicled interest in Collins but, to this point, have given the Hawks pause by seeking additional draft compensation for taking on Collins, who still has three seasons left on his five-year, $125 million contract after this one. Caris LeVert’s $18.8 million expiring contract is the Cavaliers’ most obvious trade chip.
Considering John Collins’ trade value is dropping fast, this trade could help the Hawks in saving themselves from having a poor contract on their payroll. On the other hand, the Jazz and the Cavaliers will certainly get what they are in search of this season with the proposed trade.
At the end of the day, these are still rumors. But if Stein’s report turns out to be true, the trade should take place before or on the NBA Trade Deadline. However, there is no way for us to find that out.
