NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Could Land Both Kyrie Irving And Buddy Hield This Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers are going through a complex offseason after the Russell Westbrook experiment didn't work for them. The Purple and Gold had a terrible season, missing the playoffs for the second time since LeBron James arrived. This situation has prompted them to look for solutions via trade, and they have identified different players to upgrade the roster.

The biggest name on the Purple and Gold's list is Kyrie Irving, who was linked with a move to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. Even after he re-signed with the Brooklyn Nets, the point guard has been on the Lakers' radar, and they're reportedly trying to find a way to land him.

During a recent episode of Zach Lowe's “The Lowe Post", Dave McMenamin explained that the Lakers are still trying to bring Kyrie in but adding that Eric Gordon and Buddy Hield could find their way to LA too.

"They have interest in Eric Gordon and Buddy Hield, perhaps in addition to Kyrie and the piece that would have to be moved in order to get that done would be Talen Horton-Tucker. But, it could also end up being the Plan B if they can’t get this Kyrie situation to come to bear...”

The Lakers have a lot in their hands right now after a tumultuous 2021/22 season. They need to make some changes and add certain pieces that will enhance their level. Of course, trading for Russell Westbrook is crucial for them, and many think that Russ could be dealt in a deal for any of these players.

Adding Kyrie would be huge for them, but that possibility looks thin right now. Still, they could work their magic and convince the Nets to do business, or perhaps adding a third team to the deal would please everybody. This has become one of the biggest sagas in the offseason, and nobody knows how it will end or when.
