Jerami Grant is a good two-way forward who is currently playing for the Detroit Pistons. There’s no doubt that he is having a solid season, and he is currently averaging 19.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.6 APG.

Ahead of the trade deadline, Jerami Grant has commanded a lot of trade interest from around the league. At one point, it was revealed that there were as many as four different teams interested in Grant, including the Washington Wizards and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Portland Trail Blazers were one of the teams that were linked with the forward. They have recently been part of some big trades, and have moved a lot of contracts off their books, including guards Norman Powell and CJ McCollum.

Despite many people thinking the team needs to rebuild, it seems as though the goal for the Portland Trail Blazers is to still build around Damian Lillard. Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report revealed that the Trail Blazers are currently “engaged in conversations” with the Detroit Pistons about potentially adding Jerami Grant to their roster.

Having already moved Norm Powell and CJ McCollum, Portland is still engaged in conversations with Detroit on acquiring forward Jerami Grant, sources said.

There is no doubt that Norman Powell and CJ McCollum were both good players for the franchise. However, the Trail Blazers have not managed to achieve much in the last few seasons, and it was clear that some change on the roster was needed. The Trail Blazers have acquired some win-now players such as Eric Bledsoe and Josh Hart in their recent trades, and it’s clear that they’ve focused on getting defensive-minded players to put around Damian Lillard.

It remains to be seen if the Portland Trail Blazers will end up acquiring Jerami Grant, and surely, they will have a lot of competition for his services. Jerami Grant would definitely make their team better though, and perhaps we’ll see him and Damian Lillard form a good duo in the future.
