A number of teams could have a motive to get in the mix for Damian Lillard. The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that needs a superstar to pair with Joel Embiid and could subsequently offer Tyrese Maxey as a centerpiece for a deal. The Brooklyn Nets have a good amount of first-round picks and will be looking to be competitive next season. We will have to wait to see whether the identity of this team is revealed in the future.

Last season, Damian Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the Trail Blazers, while shooting 37.1% from 3PT range. He can be a difference-maker for any contending squad, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The Portland Trail Blazers Misled Damian Lillard About Trading Him To A Team Of His Choice

As of right now, it seems as though Damian Lillard is adamant about only getting traded to the Miami Heat. In fact, a previous report revealed that the reason for that is the Trail Blazers lying to Lillard about their willingness to trade him to his preferred destination.

“I have it from a really good source… They kept assuring him… “we’re going to win around you or we’ll take care of you”… Damian Lillard gave the Blazers a list of multiple teams… When he went to them and said ‘I want to be traded to 1 of these teams’, Joe Cronin told him ‘We’re gonna do what’s best for us, I don’t care what you get back’ & Dame was pissed… Then he’s like ‘Screw you I’m only picking Miami then’”

With this level of context, it is easy to see why Damian Lillard is upset at the Portland Trail Blazers. At this point, it makes sense for both parties to move on from one another before the start of the season, and hopefully, Lillard will end up on the Miami Heat.

Trail Blazers Think That More Teams Will Continue To Enter The Damian Lillard Sweepstakes

Though Damian Lillard only wants to join the Miami Heat, it is clear that he might not get his wish. In fact, the Trail Blazers believe that more teams will enter the mix for Lillard the longer they keep him, and it is clear that this situation might drag on for a long time.

At the end of the day, most fans want to see Damian Lillard traded to a team where he can truly compete for a championship. He deserves to be sent to a place that allows him to do so, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
