Bronny James spoke after the Lakers‘ 110-134 loss to the Cavaliers, where he scored his first NBA points ever. Bronny looked back on the moment, noting that it was very special for him, especially considering the history his family, especially his father, have in the city of Cleveland. He also added how much the crowd’s support and adulation made the moment even more special for him.

“It was insane. Much more than I anticipated for sure. But it’s all love. It was insane. It was a nice moment. The chants really got me. I was straight-faced, but I felt it and it felt really good, especially coming from here. Yeah, it was a special moment for me, for sure.”

Bronny, who was born in and grew up in Cleveland for many years, received a wonderful ovation from fans as he made his first shot. Despite Bronny never actually playing for the Cavaliers, the city showed him an immense amount of love, admiration, and support as he took a big step in his NBA career.

Bronny ended the game with two points, two assists, and one steal in just five minutes. For the little amount of time he played, Bronny actually contributed well on both ends of the court.

LeBron James spoke after the game about Bronny’s big moment, noting that his son handled things very well, and he isn’t sure if he would have been able to handle the pressure as well as Bronny had he been in the same position so early in his career.

While the loss will undoubtedly sting for Bronny, he can at least remember his first game in Cleveland for this big milestone in his career. And perhaps one day, having developed into a solid NBA player, he could represent the Cavaliers, just like his father did.

Bronny James Scored First Points 21 Years After LeBron James

Bronny James scored his first points against the Cleveland Cavaliers just a day past the 21st anniversary of his father, LeBron James’ debut with the Cavaliers, where he also scored his first NBA points in 2003.

LeBron scored his first NBA points on October 29th, 2003 against the Sacramento Kings, while Bronny scored his first points on October 30th, 2024, against the Cavaliers.

This must have been an incredible moment for the James family, who are experiencing great fortune seeing LeBron and Bronny play together.

These appearances of the father-son duo will be limited after the Lakers’ road trip is over, as Bronny is expected to bounce back and forth between the Lakers and their G-League team for the foreseeable future.

For LeBron James, one can’t imagine how proud he must be of his son, seeing him on an NBA court playing with and against many of his contemporaries.

As a father, it must be one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world to see your son follow in your footsteps and achieve his dream of becoming a professional basketball player in the best basketball league in the world.
