With the Jimmy Butler saga continuing, many people have wondered which team would be the best landing spot for him. Well, former NBA star Carmelo Anthony has weighed in on this on his ‘Seven PM in Brooklyn’ show, noting that Butler should move to the Lakers and form a big three with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He believes their big three will find great success together.

“Right now? “I’m sending Jimmy to the Lakers’ best-fit Lakers. You got a veteran team, you got veteran guys on your team. Bron knows how to f**k with you, he knows what you gonna bring to the team. They need defense, you could bring that, you bring toughness and you can go get it. Bron don’t want to have to keep going and get it all. Like AD is going out there doing what he’s doing. You put Jimmy alongside!”

A trade to the Lakers is certainly an interesting idea. Of all the teams that have been linked to Butler, the Lakers have not been on that shortlist. Presumably because of the struggle of accommodating three huge salaries and still retaining key role players on their team so that they can make a sincere championship push.

But there is no denying that Butler alongside James and Davis would create one of the most formidable big threes in NBA history. While Jimmy is a very talented player, his greatest attribute is his grit. He never quits during a game and is perhaps one of the greatest playoff risers in NBA history.

Pairing him with an all-time great and one of the smartest players in the NBA would be a winning formula. The problem with this move would be that it would make the Lakers quite thin from a roster standpoint, and it would require the star players to play some big minutes, which could risk them getting injured.

Regardless of the pros and cons, Butler joining James and Davis as a trio would be box office. And as always, we here at Fadeaway World figured out three different ways that the Lakers front office could make this deal happen.

Jimmy Butler Must Be Patient Over Trade

With just about four weeks left till the February 6th trade deadline, the Miami Heat have quite a bit of time to find the right trade partner for Jimmy Butler. Pat Riley is one of the most shrewd NBA executives of all time, and he isn’t going to be strong-armed into taking a deal that isn’t good for the Heat in his eyes.

As such, it is in the best interest of Butler to come back to the team and not create any more problems to put pressure on Riley in hopes that he speeds up a trade. It was reported that Butler is expected to return to the Heat lineup with his seven-game suspension nearing an end.

When he does return, he should just keep his head down and play, as that is something Riley has criticized Butler for not doing in the past. While Riley’s earlier comments may have ruined their relationship, Jimmy should abide by his school of thought for the time being so he can get what he wants.
