Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is known to be a competitive individual who isn’t afraid of clapping back at people. This was seen quite clearly when a recent video displayed the exchange between the guard and a Minnesota Timberwolves fan during Game 4.
During an out-of-bounds sequence, a fan can be heard on camera provoking Doncic. He said, “You’re a grown man, you complain every play. You’re a grown man, too. Why you complaining?”
While inbounding the ball, Doncic turned around and responded, “Shut the f**k up, p***y.”
The fan continued chirping as normal play resumed. Lakers forward LeBron James cut across the center and dished the ball out to Doncic on the wing. Although the Slovenian made the shot from deep, it was disallowed due to a shot-clock violation.
The disallowed basket garnered a sigh of relief from the fans, particularly from the one behind the camera. But Doncic was seen smiling as he returned to his half and assumed his position on defense.

The shot going in would have been a valuable addition to the Lakers’ effort, however. In light of the 113-116 result from Game 4, the Purple and Gold could have used an additional three-pointer to keep their hopes of winning the game alive. Unfortunately, the loss was an accumulation of several other shortcomings.
The Reasons The Los Angeles Lakers Lost Game 4
The Los Angeles Lakers were in a tremendous position to win Game 4. With a 10-point lead heading into the fourth, the team had put itself in a prime position to level the series and return home with a chance to secure the lead. Unfortunately, their schemes completely fell through.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick played his second-half starters for the entire length of the second half. This accumulation of fatigue resulted in a drastic drop-off in productivity as the team only notched 19 points in the fourth quarter. A prime example of this is LeBron James, who had 27 points on the night but scored zero points in the fourth.
Although both James and Doncic have understated the impact of fatigue, it was evident that the Lakers were gassed. This was seen in their defensive integrity as well as their decision-making ability. The tentative approach on offense, which has been the team’s undoing in previous games, also became glaringly obvious in the fourth quarter.
Apart from this intrinsic failure, some external factors also had an impact on the game. The poor display of officiating, as called out by Redick, also played a detrimental role in impacting the Lakers’ momentum.
Poorly timed foul calls, among other missed calls, completely halted the Lakers’ plans. The Timberwolves capitalized on these lapses behind Anthony Edwards‘ inspired performance to lead the comeback.
With another loss in the books, the Lakers now face a daunting 3-1 deficit in the series. Although they head home for Game 5 on Wednesday, the road ahead definitely poses to be an uphill battle.
