With his latest scandal, Celtics coach Ime Udoka has the entire basketball world on its heels, but he’s hardly the first caught up in such a scandal.

Over the course of NBA history, many players, coaches, and team staffers have gotten involved in relationships they shouldn’t have — including former Wizards sharpshooter Nick Young.

Former Wizards Star Nick Young Reveals How He Got A Team Cheerleader Fired

As the former NBA swingman said on VLAD TV, he once got a Wizards cheerleader fired for sleeping with him and his teammate, Andray Blatche.

“That happened to me when I was a rookie. Me and Andray Blatche was messing around with one of the cheerleaders and then they found out. People be blaming us like it was our fault she got fired or something. “

Young may have cost a young cheerleader her job, but he got away scot-free from the whole ordeal and can look back and laugh at it now. The same cannot be said for Udoka, who may never coach again in the NBA after his affair with a Celtics staffer got exposed.

There have been questions about whether Udoka will return to his position after the conclusion of his season-long suspension. Adding more uncertainty to the news was what the management said in their official statement:

“The Boston Celtics announced today that the team has suspended Head Coach Ime Udoka for the 2022-23 season for violations of team policies,” the team-provided statement read. “A decision about his future with the Celtics beyond this season will be made at a later date. The suspension takes effect immediately.”

In the meantime, assistant coach Joe Mazzulla will take over Udoka’s role. He is regarded as one of Boston’s top assistants but has never held a coaching role in the NBA. He previously coached the franchise’s summer league outfit.

As a man in a position of authority, Udoka should have known better than to have that kind of relationship with a woman that worked for him. He’s going to find out the hard way how much of a mistake that really was.

In the case of Nick Young, it’s pretty wild that he so openly admitted to sleeping with a Wizards cheerleader, but he clearly doesn’t seem to be worried about it much these days. He’s living his life and not kidding others about the things they may have done.
