Nikola Jokic has done it. He won the first NBA Championship of his career with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets dismantled the Miami Heat in just five games to win their first title in franchise history.

Jokic had a historic playoff run where he averaged 30.0 PPG, 13.5 RPG, and 9.5 APG over 20 games. Speaking of his performances in the postseason, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to record the most points, rebounds, and assists in the playoffs.

The freshly crowned 2023 NBA Finals MVP had 600 points, 269 rebounds, and 190 assists. In addition, Jokic also led the playoffs in Win Shares (5.0).

All things considered, it was undoubtedly a memorable playoff run by the Joker. NBA legend Magic Johnson heaped huge praise on him for becoming the first player in league history to lead the postseason in points, rebounds, and assists.

“Congratulations to NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic!! 600 points, 269 rebounds, and 190 assists in the playoffs? The first in NBA history to lead the Playoffs in all 3?”

Amidst the celebration, Nikola Jokic didn’t forget his class as he shook hands with each player on the Miami Heat roster after the Game 5 win.

Michael Porter Jr. Declares Nikola Jokic As The Best Big Man Ever

At 28, Nikola Jokic has already won one NBA Championship, one NBA Finals MVP, and two regular-season MVP awards, among other accolades.

Jokic is currently in the prime of his career and has the potential to go down as one of the best centers to ever play in the NBA. Well, for Michael Porter Jr., Jokic has already reached that level.

“This was a historic run,” Porter said. “I don’t know how you could say he’s not the best big man ever really. He’s one of the all-time great basketball players, I don’t care what anyone says. I think he’s one of the all-time best players to ever play this game, so to be on his team, he makes it easy for the rest of us.”

Over the next few months, many will praise Jokic for his fabulous 2023 playoff run. But the Nuggets superstar wouldn’t care much. After all, he is not even interested in attending the championship parade in Denver. All he wants to do is get home and enjoy horse riding.
