We’re living the last hours of the regular season of the 2021/22 NBA campaign, where we lived incredible moments, historic feats, big surprises, and a couple of disappointments.
The 30 teams will close the season either today or tomorrow, and five players could play the entire 82 games. This is always something good to see, as injuries, suspensions, and many things can prevent players from missing games. Well, these five survived all of that and are set to play the entire calendar this season.
Basketball Forever shared a graphic showing the five players that have played 81 games until now, everybody living different realities ahead of the season finale. Mikal Bridges, Kevon Looney, Deni Avdija, Saddiq Bey, and Dwight Powell have all played every game in the season.
Bridges, a DPOY candidate, has helped the Phoenix Suns secure the league-best record this season. He’s averaging 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Suns while making a case for himself as the best defender in the NBA this campaign.
Kevon Looney remains a valuable piece for the Golden State Warriors, helping them compete in the Western Conference again. The big man is averaging 6.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists for the Dubs.
Deni Avdija returned this season after dealing with injuries last campaign. The Washington Wizards’ young guard is averaging 8.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game with the capital team.
Saddiq Bey, who also entered the league last season, has played every game for the Detroit Pistons, improving his numbers from the prior season. Bey, one of the most promising players on the Detroit Pistons roster, is averaging 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
Last but not least, we have Dwight Powell of the Dallas Mavericks. The big man has averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists with the Mavs, who are one of the top teams in the West.
These five players have one or two more games to play and complete the calendar. This won’t earn them an award, but it shows that their durability this season was outstanding. Some of them will continue their season in the playoffs, while the rest will finish their season having played only 82 matches.
