When everybody expected to have an all-Clippers final in the NBA 2K players-only tournament, a couple of young players told otherwise and eliminated Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell in the semifinals. Instead of an all-Clippers final, we actually watched an all-Suns series to define the winner of the competition.
It was a frustrating night for the Clippers boys, even more for Patrick Beverley, who couldn’t handle getting beat up by Deandre Ayton and simply walked out when he learned there was no chance for him to win the second game of the series.
The semis featured Devin Booker going against Harrell, while Ayton took on Beverley. It was a best-of-three series for this round and both series had the same outcome, 2-0. It was all good between Harrell and Booker, but things got a little out of control with Beverley and Ayton.
The first game of the series was a hard-fought one, decided in the last minutes. After that, when Bev believed he had the key to beat the Phoenix Suns big man, Ayton stepped up and left no chance to the point guard, beating him with his own Suns against the Denver Nuggets.
Pat complained about the things some Suns players could do, including Ayton, but none of that got under his opponent’s skin, who won the game 74-67.

While the clock was running down, Bev just walked away, taking his defeat and declaring Ayton the winner of the series.

In the all-Suns final, Booker easily defeated his teammate, winning two straight games. In Game 1, Book played with the Houston Rockets to defeat Ayton’s Los Angeles Lakers 72-62. In the second match, the Denver Nuggets got a 74-62 win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ayton said he’d never played with the Bucks before and he was still trying to figure how to get the best out of them, but it was too late for him, as Booker was set to win it all.

With the victory, the Phoenix Suns shooting guard Booker will get $100,000 to donate to a charity of his choice supporting COVID-19 relief courtesy of 2K Sports, the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association.
It wasn’t real-life NBA, we didn’t see our favorite players taking the court once again, but this tournament was very entertaining and Booker was the rightful winner after beating rivals ruthlessly on his way to the final.
