One of the highlights of Paul George’s 35-point performance in the Los Angeles Clipper’s blowout 138-100 win against the San Antonio Spurs was his savage windmill dunk and the celebration that followed after.

George blew a kiss to someone sitting in the front row and was asked about it in the postgame press conference, to which he gave a heartfelt explanation.

The forward explained that the kiss was for his mother, who he considers a massive support system, and he didn’t hold back on the praise. Per Clutch Points

“That’s to my number one supporter, my mom,” Paul George explained. “I blew a kiss to my mom. Usually both of my parents are there. My dad was sitting elsewhere tonight with family. But, yeah, it was just I looked up at the first person I seen and, obviously, my mom is again my backbone. So that was for her in that, in that moment.”

The dunk and his electric performance come as a huge boost for the Clippers unit who were looked at as one of the bonafide title contenders ahead of the season.

Earlier, injuries to George and Kawhi Leonard threatened to derail their campaign, but the stars combined for 62 points and gave a glimpse of the havoc they could wreak when healthy.

Paul George’s Take On His Body Serves As A Timely Warning To Other Franchises

One of the factors that George spoke about after the win was how his body was holding up. The ongoing season has seen him play 35 games this season averaging 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

To top it all, the dunk against the Spurs was an indication that he was back and playing with the kind of intensity expected from him.

“Yeah, my body has been feeling pretty good. I’ve been working a ton to stay healthy and keep it that way. But yeah, I felt good tonight.”

A healthy George will be one of the things the Clippers will be banking on as they prepare to make a playoff push. They are 27-24 in the West and placed fifth. They can surely make an upward dash if he and Leonard continue to remain healthy.

The Clippers play the Atlanta Hawks next, followed by a clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
