When healthy, Anthony Davis is one of the 10 best players in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers big man is part of the elite of the league, but his body needs to have mercy with him. Even though he has had very good seasons, he’s missed multiple games due to injuries in recent years.

Just last season, he missed 36 games, half the calendar of his team. This campaign, he looks ready to go and lead the Lakers to the championship again, but his health remains a big question mark for the purple and gold.

AD can do a lot of things on the court, but none of that matters if he can’t play. Plenty of people are concerned about this. They’re very cautious about the Lakers’ chances to compete if they don’t have AD.

For instance, Hall of Famer Reggie Miller recently voiced his worries about Davis, explaining that he’s concerned about the 27-year-old’s fitness every time he is on the court.

“Anytime Anthony Davis hits the floor; I think he’s done for a month. It just scares me,” Miller told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Bally Sports.

This upcoming season will be very important for the Lakers. They traded for Russell Westbrook in the offseason while adding other interesting pieces like Carmelo Anthony and returning Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo.

This team has big expectations for the campaign, but if they want to win it all, having their Big 3 healthy is mandatory. The 2021/22 NBA season starts tonight, and we’ll get to see the Lakers against the Golden State Warriors, trying to shake off the bad performances they had during the preseason.

Perhaps, this means the start of a terrific term for the 17x NBA champions, with AD showing the way alongside LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.
