Scottie Pippen Thinks Michael Jordan Wouldn’t Have Been Successful Without Him, But Admits He Wouldn’t Have Been Successful Without MJ Either

2 Min Read

Scottie Pippen has made a lot of noise in recent days thanks to his ‘curious’ comments about Michael Jordan and the time they spent together in Chicago. In the past couple of months, Pippen called his former teammate ‘selfish’ and called him out for glorifying himself on the 10-part docu-series The Last Dance.

Last week, ahead of the premiere of his book ‘Unguardable,’ the 6x NBA champion sat down with former NFL player-turned-analyst Michael Strahan on Good Morning America to discuss details about his memoir and all the things he said about Jordan.

At some point, Strahan asked Pippen how he would’ve fared without Michael Jordan by his side, with the player explaining they complemented each other very well, saying it would’ve been hard to be successful without joining forces.

Michael Strahan: “Do you think Michael Jordan would be as successful without you?”

Scottie Pippen: “No. But I don’t think I would be as successful without him. We both complemented each other in a lot of different ways.”

Just like Pippen stated, MJ said in the past that No. 33 was crucial for his career. Even though Pippen believes Jordan was being condescending, His Airness said there wouldn’t be any Michael Jordan without Scottie Pippen

It’s weird to see Scottie saying all these things, but he just wants to tell his side of the story. There’s nothing wrong with that, but fans find it curious that he waited plenty of years to reveal how he really felt about Jordan and the Bulls during their time in the Windy City.

Still, Pippen knows he and Jordan created a tremendous duo in Chicago, even claiming they would easily defeat other dynasties like the early 2000s Los Angeles Lakers and 2010s Golden State Warriors
