Seattle sports fans have long craved for the NBA to return to their city. They felt they got robbed when the Sonics left Seattle for Oklahoma and became the Thunder in 2008, and there have been repeated calls made to the NBA to get a team to Seattle.
That might well happen in the coming years, but there has been nothing concrete on that front just yet, so they have had to make do with some pro-am action all these years. Former NBA player Jamal Crawford who is from Seattle had managed to bring in some big names to his CrawsOver Pro-Am League over the years, but this time, he managed to bring in the biggest one of them all in LeBron James.
Fans in Seattle hadn’t seen the King play in the city since 2007, so the excitement levels went through the roof. They made their way to the game well in advance, and while James and other stars like Jayson Tatum dazzled them in the early stages of the game, the joy was short-lived as it had to be called off midway through the second quarter due to condensation on the court. While there was a lot of disappointment all-around, Seattle native Dejounte Murray, who shared the court with James, thanked him for showing up.
Game Got Canceled And We Went To The Grind And You Showed Me Why You Are Where You Are At @KingJames I Appreciate You Big Bro But More So My City Appreciate You Coming To Touch A Bunch Of People From Kids To Adults! The City Of Seattle Will Forever Have Love And Respect For You!💯 pic.twitter.com/MkKa7YC5zu

It would have definitely meant a lot to the fans in Seattle that LeBron decided to play there, and it’s just a shame that they weren’t able to see him in action for a full game. There won’t be too many more opportunities like this, but they at least got something out of it, and it’s an experience that the people who attended won’t forget for the rest of their lives.
LeBron also has a lot of love for Dejounte, who became an All-Star for the first time last season, as he congratulated him on making the team back in February. Great things are expected of Murray, who recently got traded to the Hawks, and he’ll be looking to take the franchise to new heights.
