The Inside the NBA crew more often than not gives us some hilarious segments. Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith are four of the most entertaining NBA personalities and their show is one of the most beloved by the community.
They’re constantly roasting each other, but sometimes, things can get out of hand and the analysts can get sensitive when people try to make fun of them. That was the case with Shaquille O’Neal on Wednesday’s edition of the show.
Shaq unfortunately was stuck in traffic and couldn’t make it to the start of the show, which sparked some jokes from his running mates. Charles Barkley called him a ‘dummy’ for not knowing that the traffic would be bad at that hour, and Kenny didn’t hesitate to join the party.
However, Shaq wasn’t so cool with the comments, and fired back at Smith, even threatening on getting physical with the former Houston Rockets player for making fun of his lateness.

“You need to be here on time,” said Smith.
Then, Shaq explained that he was on time at the start of the show, while making it clear that Kenny’s funny comments won’t be tolerated next time.
“First of all, we start at 6:30, and I was here at 6:29, so technically I wasn’t late. Second of all, if you try to be funny on TV again I’m gonna show you funny. I’m gonna put these paws on you.”
Smith replied, “Hey, I’m Pat Riley up in here. You ain’t hitting Pat Riley.”
It was a tense moment, and even though Charles Barkley laughed with Smith, Shaq was a little salty with the comments. Kenny said he was Pat Riley, but we’re not that confident in his chances against Shaq in a fight. Hopefully, this isn’t the normal reaction from Shaq from now on, as he’s always having fun with his co-hosts. O’Neal will be more than early next time or waiting for his opportunity to take revenge.
