Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks is rather notorious for his trash talk, but the Lakers have essentially shut him down this series after taking a 3-1 lead. After his second straight game skipping media availability, fans are eager to hear from Brooks after taking the loss on Monday night.

And while it’s easy to feel bad for Brooks, remember that he invited this hate with some of his recent comments. Besides calling James ‘old,’ Brooks also insisted that he only respects opponents who drop 40 points on his head. Naturally, after LeBron James finished with 22 points and 20 rebounds on the night, Shaquille O’Neal made sure to call out Brooks.

“Dillon Brooks said he doesn’t respect anybody until they get 40. 20 and 20 is 40.”

It’s a simple statement from Shaq, but it really says everything we need to know about this series. Coming in, the Grizzlies were feeling confident and they made sure to show they weren’t scared to face the star-studded Lakers.

But, thanks partly to injuries, the Lakers have taken complete control in the matchup and now stand as the favorites to move on and advance to the second round for a matchup against the Kings or Warriors.

Can Anthony Davis Stay Healthy For The Next Round?

The job isn’t yet finished for the Lakers, but it’s hard to see them losing three straight games with LeBron on the floor. After that, though, the path gets even more complicated and it’s why the Lakers will need everything they can get from Anthony Davis.

But after dropping just 12 points in Game 4, there are concerns that his health is compromised.

“Guys, AD is just not right,” reported Chris Haynes on the broadcast. “In this last timeout huddle he was away from the team at the end of the bench, he was just rubbing that right hip and he was just shaking his head back and forth.”

Injuries have been a common theme in the postseason this year, and nobody would be surprised to see the Lakers get ravaged by injuries again, considering their age and history of such issues.

Nevertheless, they are in a solid position as things stand and there are plenty of reasons for Lakers fans to be optimistic about their chances to make a real Finals run.
