Shaquille O’Neal is obviously well-known as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. However, after his playing days, he has become a very entertaining TV show and podcast host. Many love Shaquille O’Neal’s demeanor as a TV personality.

Recently, Shaquille O’Neal’s joking side came out when he was having a conversation with Tracy McGrady about tattoos. Tracy McGrady revealed that he was getting his tattoos removed and that he has been getting treatment ahead of the procedure. Shaquille O’Neal jokingly told Tracy McGrady that he was “getting soft”.

Tracy McGrady: Yeah I’m taking them off though.

Shaquille O’Neal: Why?

Tracy McGrady: I was a kid man. I’m taking mine off. I’ve been going to get my treatment for the last 6 months.

Shaquille O’Neal:  Man you’re changing on me man. You’re getting soft, come on T-Mac.

Tracy McGrady: I’m in a different mind frame right now. I got my tats when I was a teenager, and I was trying to find my way. So yeah, I’m taking them off.

Though Shaquille O’Neal roasted Tracy McGrady lightly during the segment, it is clear that the statement was mostly meant as a light-hearted joke. Of course, Tracy McGrady has the right to do whatever he wants with his tattoos, and if he feels happier after removing them then that’s worth it.

With that being said, that doesn’t mean that anyone else can’t have tattoos, and there are plenty of tattooed individuals that love the ink on their skin. There are a lot of heavily tattooed players in the NBA, such as Jordan Clarkson. It is all down to what an individual’s beliefs are regarding body modification such as tattooing, and it’s definitely okay for people to have differing opinions regarding the subject at hand.
