Shaquille O’Neal is quite the tall man at 7’1″, but Abiodun “Big Naija” Adegoke towers over him as well. O’Neal recently linked up with Adegoke, a Nigerian amateur basketball player who stands at 7’11”.

O’Neal also shared a video on Instagram of him getting dunked on by Adegoke, where he had jokingly stated he would give $1 million to anyone who can dunk on him.

Adegoke is a bit of an internet sensation and in some ways, he has O’Neal to thank for that. Back in March 2021, the Hall of Famer shared a video of him as a story on Instagram, which led to a boom in his popularity. Adegoke currently plays in the MPAC Elite Youth League in Dubai and it appears O’Neal met him while in the Middle East.

In 2023, the Nigerian had crossed paths with a current NBA big man as well. Adegoke met Karl-Anthony Towns in Abu Dhabi and made him look like a very short man.

Thanks to his tall frame, Adegoke can basically dunk without jumping, which is incredible. He is also somewhat mobile for a man of that size.

Should Adegoke ever make it to the NBA, he would become the tallest player ever to play in the league. Gheorghe Muresan and Manute Bol jointly hold the record as of now at 7’7″, and the Nigerian would shatter that mark.

Who Is Abiodun Adegoke?

While Adegoke is this internet sensation, not a whole lot is known about the man. He grew up in Ibadan, Nigeria, and then relocated to Wasinmi, where he attended the Segun Odegbami International College and Sports Academy. He then headed over to the Middle East, to play in the MPAC Elite Youth League.

There is some controversy surrounding Adegoke’s age, as no one is quite sure how old he actually is. He was labeled as a 17-year-old in a report in 2016, but then in 2021, it was claimed that he is 18 years old.

Whatever his age is, there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of interest in Adegoke from the NBA or colleges in the U.S. He is in his 20s now and the chances of him getting to the league are slim at best.
