Recently, Shaquille O’Neal asked social media personality Bobbi Althoff on a date to the movies, at the behest of fellow personality Funny Marco on his podcast. Althoff was amused and agreed to the date.

Shaq: “Bobbi (Althoff)… Hook me up with Bobbi.”

Marco: “Are you for real?”

Shaq: “Yeah, hook me up with Bobbi.”

Marco: “You and Bobbi together?”

Shaq: “Once she goes Shaq, she’ll never go back.”

Marco: “I don’t think Bobbi is a good one for you.”

Shaq: “Would you like (me) to call Bobbi too?”

Marco: “Yeah, ask her on a date.”

Shaq: “Hi Bobbi, I’m sitting here with Funny Marco, he told me to ask you on a date. So can I take you to the movies?… Alright. I love you Bobbi, I’ll call you later.”

Shaquille O’Neal was joking around with the comedian Funny Marco, and it was clear he was just having fun at Bobbi’s expense by asking her out. She gladly said yes, even though she was audibly chuckling, amused at the random call from Shaq. He and Marco then had a spirited debate about whether a date at the movies could count as a proper date or not.

Regardless of whether he was kidding with Bobbi, it is fair to say that Shaq has had his fair share of romantic experiences, although not all of them have ended well for the former NBA champion. Shaq has opened up in the past about his previous relationships, and how they have affected him.

Shaquille O’Neal Regrets How He Acted In His Marriage

Shaquille O’Neal opened up in the past about his previous relationships that led to a divorce, and Shaq candidly claimed that he messed up two relationships with two perfect women. Shaq seemed quite sad about how his marriage and relationships turned out and blamed his adultery for the collapse of his marriages. It is clear that Shaq regrets how he behaved during those relationships and how it affected his significant others.

Recently, one of his ex-wives, Shaunie, revealed that she wasn’t in love with Shaq during their marriage, to which Shaq had a pretty sobering and sad response, where he claimed he wouldn’t have been in love with himself at the time either. Despite the sadness in his words, Shaq seemed to wish his ex-wife the best and harbored no ill will toward her at all.

Since his split from Shaunie, Shaq has reportedly dated a host of prominent women, including Karrine Steffans, Dominica Westling, Laura Govan, Nicole Alexander, and Laticia Rolle. Most recently, he was rumored to be dating actress Annie Ilonzeh.

Perhaps Shaq’s romantic life and the experiences he has had as a young man have shaped his opinions on love and dating. And it appears that these experiences have also shaped how he parents his daughters through relationships. O’Neal recently revealed the conditions he placed on his daughters for their dating lives, stating that they shouldn’t bring a boy home unless they have gotten their master’s degree.

Considering Shaq’s difficult experiences in relationships and his admitted failings in them, it is unsurprising that he has some strict conditions for his daughters and the people that they want to date in the future.
