Skip Bayless On LeBron James’ Game 5 Performance: “Is He Starting To Hit The Wall?”

2 Min Read

Skip Bayless made a bold claim about Game 5 of the Los Angeles Lakers-Phoenix Suns series on Monday. According to the controversial analyst, LeBron James needed to win that match at any cost since it was the ‘biggest game of his career.’

Well, that was too much since LeBron wasn’t facing elimination. Still, the performance by the King and his Lakers left much to be desired.

After a good start by the Lakers, the Suns seized control of the game and never stopped. Bayless took advantage of this and charged against LeBron, wondering if James is finally slowing down.

“That was the first time in all my years watching LeBron, that I sat back and said: ‘Is he starting to hit the wall?'” He said on Wednesday’s edition of FS1’s Undisputed.

He doubled down on those comments, saying LeBron looked ‘overwhelmed’ by his duties of leading the Lakers to the victory without Anthony Davis by his side.

“Last night was LeBron’s night to set the table for his team and take over the game. But he didn’t look right all night after his opening salvo. He looked overwhelmed by the responsibility of trying to take the game over without AD.”

The Lakers aren’t in a good position right now. They need to bring something different for Game 6 if they aspire to win this series. It’s unclear if Davis will be ready for Game 6, and if he’s not, LeBron will have to carry this team as he did with the Cleveland Cavaliers in his first years in the league.
