Nikola Jokic is having a historic run in the 2023 NBA playoffs. He has carried the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.

In Game 2 of the series vs. the Miami Heat, Jokic recorded 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. Despite Jokic’s brilliant performance, the Nuggets were handed a 108-111 loss. NBA analyst Skip Bayless berated the Joker on Twitter for getting his total points due to lucky shots.

“I have never ever seen a man luck in as many shots as Joker did tonight. We used to call them ‘greasing’ in shots. Tonight Joker was one big tub of Crisco.”

Sure, the Nuggets lost the game, but crediting sheer luck for Jokic’s brilliant performance is a new low, even for Skip Bayless. It’s no surprise that former Nuggets coach George Karl clapped back at Bayless.

“This man is an embarrassment to sports media.”

Bayless has played the role of the villain for years now. But the veteran NBA analyst seems to cross the line at times. Many believe that’s one of the biggest reasons why his co-host of seven years, Shannon Sharpe, is leaving the show after the conclusion of the 2023 NBA Finals.

Mark Jackson Says Nikola Jokic Is A Top 10 Center In NBA History

On the one hand, Skip Bayless berated Jokic for his amazing performance. There are others who applaud the Joker for his greatness.

Former NBA player turned play-by-play commentator Mark Jackson appreciated Nikola Jokic and placed him on the list of top 10 centers of all time.

“He’s a point guard. I don’t care how you describe it, he’s a point guard,” Mark Jackson said. “Behind the back, and takes the contact. Just the skill level… I already said earlier in the year he’s a top 10 center of all time. Question is, where does he fit? Because he’s clearly in there. Without a doubt.”

Jokic has a chance to win an NBA Championship and Finals MVP award at 28 years old. He already has two MVP awards to his name. It will certainly be a resume worthy of being considered a top 10 center in the history of the league.
