NBA analyst Skip Bayless revealed that Jimmy Butler’s father being unwell could be the reason for the Miami Heat star’s funk.

Jimmy Butler’s father is ‘not well at the moment,’ per @RealSkipBayless “I think he might be a little distracted, if not a little drained, by going through that.”

Butler finished Game 2 with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists. And while his defense and the team’s grit saw them even the series 1-1, the NBA Finals hasn’t really seen Jimmy Buckets rise to the occasion.

And whether Bayless’ comments are true is a topic that’s up for debate. Leading up to the clash against the Nuggets, Butler has oozed confidence. While prayers are surely up for his father, Heat fans will also hope he heats up in Game 3 at home.

Jimmy Butler On What Makes The Heat Different

The Heat have been resilient and Butler outlined the reason behind the team’s never-say-die approach this season.

“At the end of the day, that’s what we fall back on. Make or miss shots. We’re gonna be who we are because we’re not worried about anyone else. That’s how it’s been all year long and that’s not gonna change. That’s what I think it is, it is the ‘I don’t give a damn’ factor.”

This was echoed by Gabe Vincent, who said Miami was tuning out all the external noise. “I speak for my whole team when I say we don’t give a damn. We just want to get four wins. We don’t give a damn about none of the other stuff.”

Clearly, this is working for the Heat, as they have pulled even in the series. With three wins needed, expect the Heat to go full throttle.
