The Miami Heat have tied up the NBA Finals after a strong Game 2 win in Denver against the Nuggets to steal homecourt advantage in the series. Game 3 and 4 will be played in Miami and the Nuggets will be hoping to steal at least one game, if not both.

The Heat came into Game 2 as massive underdogs and have once again shown people they are better than anyone gives them credit for. Shaquille O’Neal asked Gabe Vincent about the same after the Heat win and Vincent let Shaq know that winning hearts is not the objective, getting four wins is.

Shaquille O’Neal: “Are you guys a little upset that you’re not getting the respect that you deserve?”

Gabe Vincent: “I speak for my whole team when I say we don’t give a damn. We just want to get four wins. We don’t give a damn about none of the other stuff.”

Vincent led the Heat in scoring in this strong win, scoring 23 points with a big fourth-quarter impact. He also had a solid performance in Game 1, proving that he is in rhythm and can keep his form going as the series heads back to Miami.

Nuggets In Trouble?

Denver has been mostly dominant throughout the playoffs, with this being their fourth loss in this run. They lost one to the Timberwolves in a gentleman’s sweep before losing two games on the road to the Phoenix Suns behind Kevin Durant and Devin Booker having incredible performances.

They swept the Lakers but all four games of the series were hard-fought and could’ve swung either way. The Heat are the first team to beat Denver at home this playoff run.

Nikola Jokic has been solid but Jamal Murray wasn’t his usual self in Game 2. If the Nuggets are to win, the players around Jokic need to start making shots consistently to give them a chance. The Nuggets are 0-3 in games where Jokic has scored 40 points in the 2023 playoffs.
