Spike Lee, the legendary filmmaker and die-hard New York Knicks fan, didn’t hold back his feelings toward the Boston Celtics during a live event at Fanatics Fest. In his usual outspoken style, Lee made it clear just how much he despises the Knicks’ longtime rivals, delivering a blunt and explicit message to the crowd:

“F**k Boston.”

Lee’s declaration was met with wild cheers and applause from the audience, who shared his enthusiasm for the Knicks and his disdain for the Celtics. His words came as part of a larger discussion about the Knicks’ prospects for the upcoming NBA season and the long-standing rivalry between New York and Boston.

Although Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia, he has long considered New York his true home, especially when it comes to sports. After moving to the city to pursue his Masters in Fine Arts at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Lee became one of the most visible and vocal supporters of the Knicks. His passion for the team is well-known, and his presence at Madison Square Garden has become iconic over the years.

During the event, Lee also spoke about his deep connection to the Knicks, reminiscing about the glory days of the franchise, particularly when Walt “Clyde” Frazier led the team to its first NBA championship in 1970. Lee used this moment to rally the current Knicks roster, including stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, encouraging them to bring another championship to New York.

The Knicks are looking to bounce back after a season that was marred by injuries, and with the recent addition of Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, expectations are high for the team to challenge the Celtics and other top contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Spike Lee’s passionate outburst at Fanatics Fest is a reminder of the intense rivalry that exists between the Knicks and the Celtics, and his words will undoubtedly resonate with Knicks fans as they gear up for what promises to be an exciting NBA season.

The Knicks Probably Have The Second Best Starting 5 In The League

The Boston Celtics undeniably boast the best starting five in the league with a lineup of Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kristaps Porzingis. This group offers a perfect blend of offense and defense, featuring two elite two-way wings, two versatile guards, and a big man who can stretch the floor while protecting the rim. All five players can shoot, defend, and create their own shots, making them a nightmare for any opponent.

However, the New York Knicks might just have the second-best starting lineup in the NBA. Imagine a starting five of Jalen Brunson at point guard, Donte DiVincenzo at shooting guard, OG Anunoby at small forward, Mikal Bridges at power forward, and Julius Randle at center. This lineup, while slightly shorter, is packed with tenacity and versatility.

Brunson is a rising superstar who can score at all three levels and has a knack for making clutch plays. DiVincenzo adds energy, shooting, and defense at the two, making him a perfect complement to Brunson.

Anunoby is one of the league’s best perimeter defenders and can knock down shots from beyond the arc, while Bridges brings elite defense and scoring ability to the power forward spot. Randle, playing at the five, is a physical presence who can stretch the floor and bully opponents in the paint.

This Knicks lineup may not be as tall as Boston’s, but what they lack in size, they more than makeup for in grit and determination. Each player in this starting five has a chip on their shoulder and plays with an edge that can unsettle even the best teams. With their ability to shoot, defend, and play with relentless intensity, the Knicks’ starting five could very well be the second-best in the league, capable of challenging the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.
