Stephen A. Smith has finally confirmed what a lot of people around the NBA world suspected. The controversial analyst has always had strong opinions about Kyrie Irving, which sometimes felt personal.
During a recent conversation, Smith declared that he and indeed Kyrie have ‘personal differences.’
“Now Kyrie and I have our differences on a personal level, which is none of anybody’s business, and I’ll never tell why,” Stephen A. said. “He knows why okay? And his daddy knows why. They know how I feel about how they’ve acted towards me, and they know how I feel about them, and I know how they feel about me.”
“But I can say that to Mike Missanelli and anybody out there because I know that that does not interfere with my reporting on him and my perspective based off of the facts,” he said (16:49 mark).

Stephen A. has never been shy to express his opinion about anything or anyone, and when it comes to Kyrie, he takes it to the next level. Smith has placed his attention on another controversial player, Ja Morant, warning him about the NBA connections with huge organizations while also calling out Tee Morant for letting Ja do whatever he wants.
However, his favorite victim is Kyrie and that won’t change anytime soon.

For instance, he got into it with Jay Williams last month, with fans even claiming Stephen A. was ready to get physical with his co-host and friend. Things haven’t been the best between Irving and Smith for a while now, and whenever Kyrie messed up, either with the covid-19 vaccine, promotion of an anti-semite movie, or the trade request from the Brooklyn Nets, Smith lost it every time.
Now, Kyrie is on the Dallas Mavericks, but Smith is convinced that he’ll end up blowing that team up too, as Kyrie ‘can’t be trusted.’
Williams claimed during his argument with Smith that his comments on Kyrie felt personal, just like many fans, and now Stephen A. has confirmed that, starting a new chapter in his now public beef with Irving.
