The Philadelphia 76ers took care of business on Thursday with a win over the Raptors. Unfortunately, it may have cost them the health of their best player.

Just days ahead of Monday’s series-opening game, Shams Charania dropped some big news on the availability of Joel Embiid. Due to an elbow he received in the face, the star big man is set to miss some time after suffering an orbital fracture and minor concussion.

The news is huge and even heartbreaking for many who were rooting for Philly. Amid the chorus of reactions on Twitter, Stephen A. Smith made sure to post a video explaining his thoughts on the latest development.

“Damn,” Smith said. “Look, ain’t no need to lie, we all know where we wanna be for the Eastern Conference Finals: I wanna be in South Beach. I wanna be in Miami. … But not this way. I want Joel Embiid to be on the court, I want him balling, I want him to put his greatness on display as I want for everybody. That’s what I wanna see. If you’re great, if you can ball, I want you out there so we can see your greatness put on display (do you hear me Kyrie?). That’s all. We want to see the great players play.”

Stephen A. seems really disappointed that Embiid’s injury is robbing us of his greatness.

Embiid, 28, is having one of the best seasons of his career. In 68 games, he averaged 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. In these playoffs, he’s carrying Philadelphia to playoff wins, including Thursday’s series-clinching victory when he dropped 33 points and 10 rebounds.

Unfortunately, it may be the last time we see him this season.
