Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics is almost upon us. Since the finals series is currently tied at 1-1, it can go either way with five potential remaining games.

To be honest, it is very hard to pick a winner of the series right now. On one side, we have experienced veterans of the Golden State Warriors led by none other than Stephen Curry. The Dubs have won three titles in the last eight years and theoretically should be the favorites to win another ring.

On the other hand, we have the young guns of the Boston Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum. Although the Celts' team is inexperienced in terms of playing in the NBA Finals, many experts picked them as the favorites to win it all.

Speaking of favorites, this season Warriors superstar Steph Curry has a wide-open lane to win the first NBA Finals MVP of his career. Despite winning three NBA titles in his career, Steph has never been able to win a Finals MVP, which somewhat tarnishes his legacy.

If you are a fan of Steph, then you must be happy to hear that post-Game 2, Curry is currently the favorite to win the 2022 NBA Finals MVP award.

Via NBA.com:

"Surely, you didn’t expect Curry to stay near the bottom of the heap for long. Golden State is 5-0 this postseason after a loss, and Curry is one of the main reasons why. The point guard has drilled 72 3-pointers so far in the playoffs, marking the fifth time in his career he’s connected on 70 or more attempts from deep in a single postseason. Putting this into proper context, the rest of the league has accomplished this feat just twice in NBA history (teammate Klay Thompson did it). Curry scored 14 of his game-high 29 points in the third quarter on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point land."

As of now, Steph is averaging a stunning 31.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 4.5 APG. If he can continue with these numbers and the Dubs wrap up the series in five or six games, it's very hard to see Steph not winning the first NBA Finals MVP of his career.

But there is no way to be certain about it. Maybe Jayson Tatum will finally snap his shooting slump and make a comeback in the remaining games of the 2022 NBA Finals.
