Stephen Curry has been the most impressive individual on the basketball court throughout these NBA Finals, especially in the first 4 games. He led the Warriors in scoring in all those, and he truly stamped his authority on the series in Game 4 when he dropped 43 points to almost single-handedly give the Warriors a victory they needed.

However, come Game 5, it seemed like that Curry had disappeared, with Steph failing to hit the shots he has so effortlessly hit his entire career. The greatest shooter of all time seemingly couldn’t even buy a three-pointer and ended his amazing streak of consecutive games with at least one made three-pointer, which was sitting at 233 as of this game.

And even though Draymond Green spoke about how Curry would be fuming going into Game 6, Curry himself wasn’t that bothered, he could be seen smiling wide and having a great time as the Warriors clinched the game. And he said as much after the game, talking about how happy he was despite his poor shooting display.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been happier after an 0-for-whatever night.”

If someone had said before the game that Curry would make none of his three-pointers in Game 5, the consensus would have been that the Warriors would lose such a game. However, an impressive Andrew Wiggins led them to victory, meaning that Curry now finds himself just one more win in 2 games away from his 4th NBA championship.

So it’s no surprise that the Warriors man was so happy, that feeling of being on the cusp of glory likely goes far beyond any emotions regarding personal performance. Having said that, Steph will not want to mess with his case for Finals MVP either, and it wouldn’t be surprising in the least if he came out firing and hitting three-pointers in Game 6, looking to end that particular conversation once and for all.
