Stephen Curry Speaks On Chet Holmgren Using His Own Move Against Him At Basketball Camp: “Pretty Dope That He’s Now In The League As The No. 2 Pick.”

2 Min Read

Chet Holmgren was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and there’s no doubt that he was one of the most promising prospects in this draft. His combination of size, length, and shooting ability prompted the Oklahoma City Thunder to select him, and hopefully, we see him become a superstar in the future.

A few years ago, Chet Holmgren attended Stephen Curry’s basketball camp. He notably managed to block one of the superstar’s shots, and his confidence was astounding at the time. He also managed to score on Stephen Curry using Curry’s own move.

Recently, Stephen Curry was asked about that viral moment, saying that Chet Holmgren may have hit him with his own move, but that the two finishes are different, as Curry would have pulled up from 3PT range while Chet Holmgren got to the rim and dunked on someone. Curry also stated that it was “dope” to see Chet Holmgren in the league as the No. 2 pick.

It’s dope… Chet hit me with my own move, little double behind the back… he finished it differently than I would though, I would have just pulled up from 3, he went to the basket and dunked on another dude. It’s pretty dope that he’s now in the league as the No. 2 pick.

It remains to be seen how well Chet Holmgren performs in the league. There have been some concerns about his frame, but he definitely has a good amount of skill.

Hopefully, selecting Chet Holmgren pays off for the Oklahoma City Thunder. While they are not a good team currently, they could be a top-tier playoff team a few years in the future, once all of their prospects develop. Perhaps we will see Chet Holmgren be at the top of the league in the future, and it’s certainly not out of the question.
