Steph Curry hasn’t been back from his injury for long, but he has already regained his MVP form. On Monday, he proved it with another 41-point offensive explosion that led the Warriors to a 127-118 win over the Washington Wizards.
It was another masterpiece from Curry, who also finished with 7 rebounds and two assists on the night. So impressed by the effort was Steve Kerr, that he compared Curry to Michael Jordan after the final buzzer.

While Kerr did not elaborate further on his claim, it’s hard to deny that Steph, like Jordan, has completely taken over the league. His brand and fanbase have transcended the sport itself and by the time his career is all said and done, it’s very possible we look at him in the same light we look at MJ and LeBron.
Steph Is In The MVP Conversation This Season
While the Warrior shave struggled to keep afloat in the West standings, it hasn’t been because of Steph. In truth, the star point guard was on another level before he got hurt, and was easily making a case for his best individual season ever.
Steve Kerr asked the difference between Steph Curry’s unanimous MVP season in 2016 and now: “He’s 15 pounds heavier…He’s ripped. He’s physically very different now from then.”
Curry definitely has bulked up a lot from back then and it has also helped him on the defensive end, as he can hold his own now as opposed to back then when the Warriors tried to hide him on defense. It is a great lesson for anyone who aspires to be great that this guy who won unanimous MVP, kept working on his game and his body to get even better.
This season, Curry is averaging 28.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game on 49.6% shooting. He has been doing everything he can to turn this season around for this team, and it hasn’t brought the desired results so far.
But only a fool counts the Warriors out, and Steph has shown us time and time again why he cannot be taken lightly when fully healthy.
