Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr just couldn’t resist the temptation to troll Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown. Just as Kerr sat down to speak to the media before their game against the Memphis Grizzlies, he hilariously called for a computer to be brought to him.
“Raymond (Ridder), would you bring the computer up here, please?” Kerr said. “I couldn’t resist. That was amazing.”

He was, of course, referring to when Brown brought a laptop to show the mistakes made by the referees during the Kings’ 143-142 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He had gotten ejected in the fourth quarter of that contest and wanted to show the reporters what had made him so upset.
Brown is unlikely to take any offense to Kerr doing this, as they are fairly close. Brown was an assistant coach for the Warriors from 2016 to 2022 and was a big part of their success. He has been sorely missed since he departed to become the head coach for the Kings, and the Warriors certainly wish they still had him around.
Steve Kerr’s Rant On Modern Referees
Kerr probably wishes he had brought out the laptop when he went on his viral rant about the officials last month. Following a loss to the Denver Nuggets, Kerr blasted modern referees as Nikola Jokic had 18 free throws in the contest.
“I have a problem with the way we are legislating defense out of the game. We’re just enabling players to BS their way to the foul line. If I were a fan, I wouldn’t have wanted to watch the second half. It was disgusting.”
No fan wants to see a free throw fest in any game and there were 55 attempts in total in that Warriors-Nuggets contest. It would have been hilarious had Kerr brought out the laptop then to show how the officials messed up.
Steve Kerr Was Not Smiling After The Grizzlies Game
While Kerr was in a jovial mood when he was trolling his former assistant, the smile had been wiped off his face after the game against the Grizzlies. Despite the likes of Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Marcus Smart being out due to injury, Memphis shockingly beat Golden State 116-107. It was an embarrassing loss for a team that is not really in a position where they can afford to lose such games.
The Grizzlies shot just 37.2% from the field in the contest but had a huge edge when it came to threes and free throws. They connected on 20 shots from beyond the arc compared to just 10 for the Warriors. Memphis also went 32-40 from the line while Golden State was only 8-10.
The Warriors have now dropped to 18-22 on the season as a result of that defeat and face the red-hot Utah Jazz, who are 12-2 in their last 14 games, next. So, another loss seems to be on the cards.
It is hard to see light at the end of the tunnel for the Warriors unless they make some major moves before the deadline. As presently constructed, this team is simply not going to be a serious title contender this season, and they might know that too.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Warriors have put everyone but Stephen Curry on the trade market. They’re certainly a team to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
