Steven Adams On Zion Williamson: “Strength Is The Least Interesting Part Of His Game…”

2 Min Read

When it comes to young talent, very few players in the game can compare to Zion Williamson. At 20-years-old, in his second season, he’s averaging 26.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Often hailed for his size and sheer strength, Williamson has become one of the premier faces of basketball — and for good reason.

But, in a chat with the media, Pelicans big man Steven Adams explained why strength is just the tip of the iceberg for Zion, lauding his touch and footwork.

“I know we talk about strength a lot, but that’s the least interesting thing in his game, him being a strong dude,” Adams said, per Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com. “His touch is so good, his footwork is insane.”

Despite what some casual fans might think, there is much more to Zion’s game than strength and athleticism. He is a legitimately skilled player with an insane touch around the rim, awesome footwork to create space, and tremendous basketball IQ to make the right plays in the right situation.

The Pelicans still have a lot of strides to make if they are to take advantage of the presence of their young superstar, but it shouldn’t be long now before he takes them to great places. For us fans, it will be quite a ride to behold.
