After James Harden was traded to the Clippers, a video went viral with Harden and Russell Westbrook greeting each other. Another takeaway from the video was Terance Mann sitting in the background and completely ignoring Harden. Mann has explained why he acted the way he had, showing there’s no beef between him and Harden.
“Everybody was hating on the locker room situation. He [James] had already come into the locker room. We already greeted him and stuff. That was just his first time seeing Russ, We already talked and chopped it up, and everybody was excited. That was just his first time seeing Russ. Everybody was acting like it was his first time walking in and addressing the team, and nobody was looking at him. That’s not 9t at all. I’ve known James for years, he’s always held it down. I am excited to be on the same team as him.”

Mann spent the entire summer in trade rumors, with the Clippers not including him in the deal being a sticking point for months. Ultimately, the Clippers held onto their guns and kept the versatile 27-year-old on their roster. Mann could’ve been annoyed at Harden for all the speculation he brought upon him, but now that they’re teammates and the saga is over, they can move forward.
Mann hasn’t played a game so far this season, nursing an ankle injury at the moment.
Terance Mann Inching Closer To A Return
Terance Mann’s debut this season has been delayed due to an ankle injury. The star is expected to return soon, with head coach Tyronn Lue providing an update on his status.
“T-Mann is day-to-day, so we’ll just see how he feels. He’s going to be evaluated every day, so we’re just going to see how he feels.”
Lue also confirmed that Mann has been practicing with the team, so it seems he’s coming closer and closer to a return. The Clippers could need his versatile play, especially on the wing after the team traded most of its forward rotation to acquire Harden.
The Expected Starting Lineup For The Clippers
Shams Charania of The Athletic has revealed the likely starting five that the Clippers will use in their Monday night clash against the New York Knicks. James Harden is expected to make his debut and return to playing as the shooting guard, a position he last played alongside Russell Westbrook in the 2019/20 Rockets season.
“New Clippers star James Harden will debut on Monday vs. the Knicks at Madison Square Garden – and the team is expected to start Russell Westbrook, Harden, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac moving forward.”
Given the history Harden and Westbrook have as teammates, it’ll be interesting to see how the pair will co-exist on the Clippers. They’re in different stages of their career, with both players wanting to prove to the league that they are valuable veterans that will lead to winning and are deserving of big contracts.
If they can’t make it work here, it’ll be hard for either player to prove to other winning situations that they’re worthy additions to their roster, especially with their age.
