The Denver Nuggets have reached the NBA Finals for the first time in history, and Nikola Jokic is the only one to blame. As a 7-foot master of everything, the Joker has been the biggest catalyst behind Denver’s playoff run this year, and many are already picking them to beat the Heat and win the NBA Finals.

This level of play is nothing new for Jokic, of course, but this level of success has exposed a new demographic to his game, and it’s impossible to miss. In a recent chat with Rachel Nichols for Showtime Basketball, NBA legend Tracy McGrady shared his thoughts on Joic and where he stands among the best of the best.

“Jokic, let me tell y’all something. [Nikola Jokic] is so f****** good, man. I haven’t seen anything like him. He’s like Jason Kidd as a point guard… He’s on the verge of winning his first championship, and he’s gonna be the MVP.”

Jokic is a 2x MVP, so nobody should be shocked at how he has played in these playoffs. Still, the Nuggets have proved so many people wrong by taking care of business and beating the Suns and Lakers in the West.

The question is, can they close the deal now and bring home the title?

Is This The Start Of The Jokic Era?

At just 28 years old, Nikola Jokic still has plenty of time to accomplish his NBA goals, but he has an opportunity now that he may never get again. Just four wins away from winning it all, Jokic and his team aren’t about to take it easy on anyone, especially not the Heat.

“As I told our team, forget the #8 seed stuff. When you get to the NBA Finals, it’s not about seeding anymore. And for those that are thinking this is going to be an easy series, I don’t even know what to say to you people. This is going to be the biggest challenge of our lives. It’s the NBA Finals.”

Only time will tell how this series plays out for both sides, but the Nuggets have something that Miami simply does not: a 2x MVP capable of being the best player on the planet on any given night.
