Tristan Thompson has made a big comparison between two of his current teammates and the best duo he played with during his stint in Cleveland. TT spent the first nine years of his career with the Cavaliers and is currently in his first season with the Boston Celtics, a very promising team that has everything to be a contender for several years.
Led by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum the Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA for the present and the future and Thompson sees a lot of similarities between their stellar duo and the one they had in Cleveland with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Talking with NBC’s Chris Forsberg, Thompson compared the young duo with Kyrie and Bron due to their work ethic and how they were always trying to get better.
“Just the work ethic. A lot of talented players, they definitely work on their game, but these guys work on another level. They are in the gym taking extra shots after for an extra hour. I am like we gotta game at 7, are you guys sure you want to keep shooting?”
“That’s their routine. Reminds a lot with LeBron and Kyrie and even it’s crazy to say but Collin Sexton the young kid you know, he is always in the gym so that’s how come these guys perform in a way. They put the time in and the effort in and like they say you know what you put into the game, it comes back and you reap the benefits. It’s shown in the way they have played this year, both of them, playing at an efficient level so they deserve it.”
"A lot of talented players that I’ve been around, they definitely work on their game, but these guys work on another level."

These Celtics are expected to contend for several years to come and they are on the right way. Thompson landed this year to help them improve their level. The Eastern Conference is very difficult this year but they’ve managed to remain 4th in the East. Tatum and Brown are still very young and they have a bright future ahead; it’ll be interesting to see how far they can go and if they can win as Bron and Kyrie did back in the day.
