Jason Kidd has recently been hired as the coach of the Dallas Mavericks. He was a championship-winning point guard for them in 2011, and he definitely makes sense as someone who can mentor young superstar Luka Doncic. While his tenure as a head coach with the Milwaukee Bucks wasn’t necessarily the best, perhaps he will do better on the Dallas Mavericks.

The regular season hasn’t yet started, but it seems as though Jason Kidd is already being trolled by sports fans. Sports page Korked Bats has recently posted a photo of Jason Kidd wearing a shirt with an abnormally large collar, and jokingly stated that for every 25 likes, they’d post an image of Jason Kidd with an even bigger collar. The post got over 136,000 likes, and you can see the results of that below.

Many sports fans enjoyed the meme about Jason Kidd’s oversized collar, and there’s no doubt that people had fun going through the various collar pictures created by Korked Bats.

Jason Kidd himself has seen the photo of his large collar shirt go viral, and he joked about it with reporter Tim Cato, quipping that he’d like to start a bowling team with those outfits. It would certainly be funny to see a whole bowling squad wear shirts with oversized collars, and perhaps we’d even get a “bowling team” edition of the collar meme if that were to happen.

It seems as though the “meme-ifying” of Jason Kidd’s collar has come to an end though, although it was certainly fun while it lasted. There’s certainly a reason it went viral.

There’s something to be said about the creativity and thoughtfulness that went into this post, and it’s certainly no easy feat to come up with this many different pictures for one collar. Jason Kidd has been featured on some funny photos before, and the Dallas Mavericks once posted a hilarious photo of him with his tactics on a board, which read: “Give it to Luka”. Jason Kidd certainly takes humor well, and hopefully that allows him to provide a good atmosphere for the Dallas Mavericks next season.
