Stephen Curry is an incredibly dangerous player. Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history and can score from anywhere on the court. Curry’s incredible speed and range on the court allows him to be able to terrorize his opponents on the court. One of the NBA’s best head coaches spoke recently about his experience coaching against Curry.

Ty Lue and the LA Clippers picked up a surprising win over the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers are still without their key players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But the Clippers shut down Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, at least enough to be able to secure the upset win.

After the game, Ty Lue was asked about having to coach his time against Stephen Curry. In his response, Lue shared his experience coaching against Curry while he was the head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He noted that while offensively dangerous players like Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson were on the court, he asked his defenders to blitz Stephen Curry and pay key attention to him.

“He’s so dangerous, probably the most dangerous player in the league the way he can get hot… In 2017 and 2018m we blitzed him with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson on the floor. That’s how dangerous I think he is.”

Lue had to prepare his Cavaliers to take on Curry and the Golden State Warriors for three consecutive years. Lue and the Cavaliers got the better of the Warriors in 2016, completing a 3-1 comeback to win the NBA championship. In 2017 and 2018, the Warriors dominated the Cavaliers, thanks to their offensive trio of Curry, Durant, and Thompson.

Curry has been significantly influential in the NBA, thanks to his incredible shooting. But he recently slammed fans who criticize him for ruining basketball with his shooting. Curry is without a doubt, the greatest shooter in NBA history, and his influence is still seen in the league to this day.
